Broadcast Engineer - Large Format Displays

Advanced Systems Group is seeking an engineer with Video Wall experience to support event production on our client's sites in Mountain View, Sunnyvale, and San Bruno, CA.

Essential Functions

  • Set-up and maintain various video wall installations within the client’s sites
  • Provide programming and live function operation assistance
  • Live event experience
  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, routine and preventive maintenance of video walls and other associated equipment in the production facility
  • Author, manage and update accurate engineering documentation

Technical Knowledge Required

  • Experience with operating and maintaining equipment from Absen, Unilumen, Sony, etc.
  • Familiarity with Watchout, Mbox, Hippo, Barco e2, Adobe PhotoShop, PowerPoint, Google Slides, Adobe Premiere, all major video and still image file formats
  • Color theory for broadcast (Rec. 709, Rec. 2020, etc.)
  • Understanding of potential interactions between video wall images and broadcast TV cameras
  • Rigging standards and practices
  • Basic computer networking skills and troubleshooting


  • 3+ years of overall live event experience with video walls
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of people and job functions
  • Professionalism and ability to be helpful and maintain composure under pressure
  • Ability to work well in a broadcast team environment, including talent, producers and directors, under strict time deadlines
  • Expectation of complete confidentiality on all business matters
  • Computer and communications skills: email, calendars, spreadsheets
  • Ability to work varied schedules and to work overtime and/or holidays
