Advanced Systems Group is seeking a Broadcast Systems Engineer to support all technology and productions at Studios in Los Angeles (Playa Vista).  Primary duties include, but are not limited to a variety of systems engineering, maintenance and repair tasks in a live studio and post-production environment. You will assist producers in the planning and execution of their productions at the space. Event and education support is also required.
 

Essential Functions:

  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, routine and preventive maintenance of broadcast and other technical equipment in a digital production facility.
  • Systems design and engineering background and experience. Solid broadcast equipment configuration and installation experience.
  • Solid production studio knowledge.
  • Monitor, analyze, and solve problems with RF, video, audio, cameras, digital switchers, digital routers, digital video servers, character generators, automation, post-production, and non-linear editing systems.
  • Author and manage and update accurate engineering documentation
  • Trouble-shooting of digital systems and use digital test equipment with proficiency using waveforms and Vectorscopes.
  • Technical setup for different productions going on within the space.

Qualifications:

  • 7 years of overall broadcast engineering experience at a local TV station, cable/satellite channel or other industry-related activities
  • Hands-on knowledge of broadcast systems and equipment, including analog/digital video/audio signals, monitoring and test equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies.
  • You will be client facing, your manner, professionalism and ability to be helpful under pressure are of the utmost importance.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to walk, lift and carry loads up to 70 pounds.
